Friday Favorite:Homeless or Gypsy?
When my son saw this picture his remark was, “homeless people are so cool”. Homelessness is a tragedy. But some of them are pretty amazing. This guy probably wouldn’t have a home if you gave it to him.
It’s hard to tell exaclty what he has here. There are probably three carts tied together. There is a stuffed dog at the top. It looks like the dog is holding a sign that says something about Jesus. He has an assortment of flags including a POW/MIA flag.
Do you think he is a Vietnam vet? Does he just collect both the useful and things that strike is fancy as he rolls along? Is it just decoration or is he making a statement?
He is probably pushing several hundred pounds.

It makes you stop and think for sure. It also reminds us that each of us is an individual with a story and deserving of respect, no matter your plot in life.

Very interesting picture, and it does make me stop and reflect. These are probably the only belongings this person has and they are obviously important to him.

it kind of amazes me, that fierce independence that refuses help from anyone. although, sadly, there’s probably a good deal of hard earned fear behind that fierce independence.

I agree with Z’s mom. I have no idea how some one could push or pull that much less be able to watch all four sides to keep some one from taking anything precious.
