The Bike Walker Exclusive!
I have previously mentioned the interesting characters that I meet along the bike trail.
The bike walker is a guy who I saw when I first moved here three years ago. I had mentioned him to my bike friends and they had also noticed him. He was always walking and pushing a bicycle. We never saw him ride it.
After a few months the bicycle disappeared and he just walked.
A short time ago things changed. He continues to walk bikeless in the morning. When I see him on the way home going the other direction, he is again walking a bike.
I stopped to chat with him one day. He wasn’t very friendly and basically told me that he thought I should mind my own business. But I wave to him every day and he waves back most of the time.
But now readers I have an exclusive that has never been documented before! Yes boys and girls this is the only blog to have this…

The rider on the right is the walker. And he is riding! And then…

…he hopped off and was back to walking.
I have a theory about this odd behavior of the species known as cyclus walkus. I think he hops on the bike and coasts down hill. The rest of the time he walks it. I can see the appeal of the walk/pedal method. Gives a whole new meaning to the slow bicycle movement.
But I have no theory for the question that I ponder every time I see him. In the morning I see him walking from point A to point B without a bike. In the evening he is walking from point B to point A with a bike. How does said bike get from point A to point B so he can walk it back?
It is one of life’s great imponderables. After the response I got last time I spoke with him, I sure as heck am not going to ask him.

Ha, I remember you mentioning this guy. A interesting creature for sure. Plus, he does seem rather rude. I wonder what goes on in peoples’ heads sometimes
Great story, I love it!

There could be a simple explanation that someone is dropping the bike to him during the day and the reason he is not using it the way he is supposed to could be due to any type of mental issues he is having which is why he probably wanted you to leave him alone in the first place. I don’t atttribute his behavior to rudeness but rather to some form of social anxiety…

I don’t find your explanation simple at all.
A more simple explanation would be that he kife’s a bike on he other end.
I would agree because the guy does appear to have some mental/emotional issues.
Besides we are buds now. We wave to each other.
