Inger-Lis you are telling tales out of school. Shame on you! Now I may have to write a post about the incident to clear the air.

And yes I remember the day very well thank you.

Here is a story I don't know if you still remember or not, but when you were first riding in Pennsylvania sometimes you would bike down to the river and go fishing (or hiking, I am not sure exactly what you were doing). One time I remember you came home later than usual and very frustrated because you had locked you bike against and tree and then couldn't find the tree again! I still laugh when I remember that, and I never lock my bike against the tree in the woods ;)

1200 miles in 11 days is pretty darn good. If you tell me that was unsupported and fully self contained I am going to be very jealous.

I would like to someday go self contained coast to coast.

Oh the memories. I did the STP (seattle to Portland) a 200 mile ride in 2 days, 19 years ago with my uncle who I thought was too old to be on a bike. Two years ago my sixty something uncle and I rode from Astoria, Oregon to Spanish Fork, UT (~1200 miles) in 11 days... he's still faster than I am. I hope to someday get a job on the east coast so I can finish my trip.

I trained LOTS more for my first STP than I did to ride a third of the way across the country.

Your first century averaging 14mph, unsupported, on a hybrid bike is impressive. After the pain I bet you felt like nothing could stop you if you set your mind to it.
