New Lights
A few weeks ago the power cord separated from the battery on my commuting head light. The light was rather old. I decided it was more cost effective to just replace it. I hate that. My old light was a Niteryder Head Trip or something like that.
I replaced it with the Niteryder MiNewt Mini USB. What an impressive little light! The light is very small but gives off an amazing amount of light. The batter pack also mounts on the helmet. I think the light and battery pack seem like less weight on the helmet that just the light from the old Head Trip.
I liked the light so much that this past weekend I bought another one for my handlebars. I have been using a Cateye Triple Shot that was about two years old. The Triple Shot has been a big disappointment and the MiNewt costs much less.

I checked the light out and it’s impressive along with a decent price. Light and battery technology sure has come a long way over the past couple of years. Keep us updated on run times and anything else which may prove interesting.
Maybe now I’ll have something on my Christmas list which won’t give family and friends sticker shock.

Every time I think of bicycle lights I remember riding through those train track tunnels with you in Hiawatha State Park. My light was as dim as could be and after learning bears sometimes sleep in the tunnels, I spent most of the time terrified I was going to fly head over heels over a sleeping bear. Regardless of sleeping bears, that was such a fun trip!!

That really was a great trip. It was the Hiawatha bike trail in the Bitter Root mountains between Idaho and Montana. I remember your voice plaintively calling out “Dad wait I can’t see.” It was reall dark in those tunnel.
