How Do We Measure Progress?
I recently visited the FDR Memorial in D.C. It is one of my favorite memorials. Unfortunately it is also a little bit out of the way so many people miss it. It is like a statuary garden that depicts his entire presidency.
I especially like this quote:

If you ever come to D.C. be sure to check it out. It is on the opposite side of the tidal basin of most of the other memorials.
Happy Friday Foto Fiesta.

Looks cool.
ALA is in DC next summer. Haven’t been there in so long I’m thinking of checking it out. Maybe.

A wonderful quote–and after watching Sicko a few days ago, I think that maybe somebody should make Congress take a little walk to this memorial while they mull over the health care bill.
Nice to have you back, Red.

Hi Angie,
You should come to the convention. If your employer isn’t paying your way you are welcome to stay with me. You are welcome to stay no matter the situation.
I have now figued out it was you that sent me the bike link the other day. I thought it was the email didn’t match my address book.
I am not sure the trend to bicycling will stick. It certainly picked up a year ago with the high gas prices. I have noticed a definite increase in the trend towards more normal type cycling. By that I mean urban bikes, no spandex, just using the bike as a transportation tool. Like the Chic bicycling links on my blog. You should check those out since you like post stuff on style now and then.

Amy,
I think you make a good point. It’s a touching and thoughtful memorial and gives one pause when they walk through it.

Ha, ha ha. Public school pay for anything like that. Still a thought, at this point. It’s a year away. But maybe. 8]
I think I looked at that link once and liked it. Will have to check it out again.
Keep it up! What kind of a camera do you have? Simple point and shoot or something more? My dumb little camera died four days into London. Just got a better one. Not DSLR yet ($$$$$$$$$) but anyway. Now just need to get off my rear end and go photograph something. Maybe I will steal the Friday Foto Fiesta idea myself.

I am so glad you pictured the FDR memorial for your foto fiesta- its my favorite of all the memorials. I love how its not a statue of a person, but simply walls with quotes, waterfalls, and shrubbery.

Oh, my, I wish I had known about FDR’s memorial when I was in DC. I never even thought to ask about it, silly me. I’ll be sure to check it out the next time I’m in the area.

That is a place I would like to visit one day. That is a wonderful quote. Could the government learn anything from that? Thanks for sharing. Happy Friday. Stopping by from Carrie’s FFF!

Angie,
Most of my pics are taken with Fuji finepix j150. I use it because it is small and will fit in my bike jersey. I don’t want to use a camera that is too expensive since I am carrying around in my bike jersey most of the time.
