I saw an attempt at a 'critical mass' in Provo. There were about 10 cyclists taking an entire lane and being obnoxious. Evidently they don't understand the term 'critical mass'. I think that what was once an opportunity to show that we have the numbers to demand respect peacefully and silently has turned to an opportunity to be obnoxious and raise awareness of unlawful cyclists.

It is amazing how misunderstandings can snowball into an all out brawl. I can only imagine Police showing up with 10 different stories of what had happened and them having to figure out who to arrest, who to trust, etc. That would be very difficult with 40-70 people surrounding you and yelling all sorts of things.

Those Critical Mass people can be a little crazy, I understand their point but I'm not sure they're doing the rest of us a favor.

Something tells me there were bad decisions on both sides but neither side wants to be seen as being in the wrong. But I find being the woman's story of being hit in the face with a drink hard to swallow (no pun intended) because who rides a bike with a drink in hand????
