To Attend or Not

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Things are crazy around here planning for the inauguration of Barack Obama on Tuesday. Roads are going to be closed all around the area. Cars will not be allowed into the district.

I am contemplating if I should go downtown to the mall or not. This could be a historic event. I could tell my grandchildren about it. Think about how it would be if your great great great grandfather had been there for the Gettysburg address by Lincoln and had written about it. You never know what will go down in history. What if your mother and witnessed the declaration “Ask not what your country can do for you but rather what you can do for your country”?

There is going to be bicycle valet parking. I can ride down. Even if I don’t get close I can be part of the event and it could be amazing. It could also be very miserable.

I probably won’t make a decision until Tuesday morning when I see the weather. But I haven’t lost anything if I just ride my bike there.

What do you all think? I have added a poll if it shows up.
